Review Urges Integrative Methods in Multiple Myeloma Care, Highlighting Diet and Supplements

This review emphasizes the necessity of a multi-faceted approach in treating multiple myeloma (MM), incorporating conventional and complementary methods to address the comprehensive needs of patients. It advocates for the incorporation of dietary modifications, lifestyle interventions, and the use of various supplements that have shown potential in both preclinical and clinical settings to alleviate symptoms and possibly improve treatment outcomes. Moreover, it highlights the widespread use of complementary treatments among patients, often without their doctors’ knowledge, which could lead to interactions with standard treatments.

Establishing evidence-based guidelines and enhancing patient-practitioner communication are crucial to safely integrating these therapies into standard care, ensuring they are used effectively and without compromising the efficacy of conventional treatments.
