Imaging modalities for multiple myeloma (MM) patient management are explored, highlighting advantages, disadvantages, and applications of each. Imaging is instrumental in detecting intramedullary and extramedullary disease, providing prognostic information, and assessing therapeutic efficacy. Whole-body low-dose computed tomography (WBLDCT) has emerged as the study of choice to detect osteolytic bone disease, while PET and CT combine functional and morphologic information to identify MM disease activity and assess treatment response. MRIs have excellent soft-tissue contrast and is the modality of choice for bone marrow evaluation.
